Senior Engineer

Job Reference: RUFF - PROG - 0060

We are looking for Senior Engineers to join our team.

Successful candidates will ideally be self-motivated with a can-do attitude. We like both people with a broad range of abilities, and also those that have specific skills in key areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work within an experienced team reporting to the Code Lead
  • Design and implement key software features
  • Help to direct the work of Junior Engineers
  • Write clean, efficient and maintainable code
  • Identify, analyse and communicate risks to the appropriate people.
  • Accurately estimate own work and deliver high quality systems within this timeframe.
  • Co-ordinate with other disciplines to achieve a shared vision.

Candidates

You should be able to demonstrate your expertise in a significant portion of the criteria below.

Experience

  • 3+ years professional programming experience
  • Has at least one shipped title.
  • Worked on a current generation console title
  • Has designed and implemented a significant software system
  • Worked on and added features to an existing code base
  • Involved in planning and scheduling their own and others work

Knowledge / Skills

  • Educated in a relevant subject to degree standard (or equivalent work experience)
  • Excellent knowledge of C++
  • Flexible enough to work on a range of game systems
  • Can design and implement core systems
  • Able to estimate time to complete a task for themselves and others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making ability

Experience in any of the following areas beneficial

  • CryEngine3
  • Networking
  • Physics (including Havok, PhysX, etc.)
  • AI
  • LUA
  • DirectX
