Stuart made the move into the games industry in 2003 having previously spent 4 years at IBM UK as a Product Designer then Graphic Designer. He was a Senior Environment artist on the award winning Xbox 360 title Crackdown, and was involved in all aspects of environment creation from level design and concepts, through to final modelling, materials creation and tech development.
He then became Lead Technical Environment Artist on Realtime World’s MMO APB where he led a team responsible for prototyping environments, Unreal Engine 3 materials development, and prop creation. He also worked closely with in-house tech teams to refine the environment tools and pipelines and ease the process for the other artists on the team.
Stuart was Art Lead on Crackdown 2 where he overseen a wide range of the game’s art content and tech, from environments to vehicles to UI/HUD as well as getting his hands dirty with content creation. He was also responsible for liaising with our publisher teams on non-game art such as Marketing, Xbox Live content and the Crackdown animated comic.
